Dating Anxiety – How To Cope

Let’s face it we have all been there. You’ve finally matched with someone on Tinder (or maybe Match.com) whom you seem to have a lot in common with. However, you haven’t met this person in real life – yet. Dating anxiety is at an all-time high in situations like this.

After days, weeks, or even months of chatting online, you decide to pull the trigger and meet finally.

The date is set for Friday night. Right after work you and him/her are going to meet at a local bar for some drinks. You guys keep chatting as usual until Friday comes around.

Now for some reason, you begin overthinking everything. Will he/she look like her photos? Will they be as polite in person? What if I’m being catfished? Who is this person really?

You start going through a Google rabbit hole – again. Reverse searching their name, number, and whatever other information you may have of them. Something just doesn’t feel right.

My Dating Anxiety Story

You see, I’ve myself dealt with dating anxiety. My head started racing and I even considered calling the whole thing off. I am completely comfortable around my friends and family, but for some reason when it comes to first or second dates, I have a mini panic attack.

I overthink EVERYTHING. Also, I probably try on three different outfits before deciding what I am going to wear. Am I going too formal? Should I wear my shirt tucked in? Jewelry or no jewelry?

When I catch myself in these anxious loops – I stop and think for a second. What am I worrying about? We are just two adults getting to know each other. Nothing more, nothing less.

Taking the Peak Supplement also helps me tremendously. About 30 minutes after taking it, all those insecurities seem to dissipate. I can finally think straight and get things done.
